Your Questions, Answered

Everything you need to know before enrolling. Still have a question?

What is an art experience and how is it different from a class?

An art experience is a personalised, outcome-focused journey where you create a specific artwork for your home or as a gift. Unlike a class, the goal is a finished, installable piece — not skill-building.

You can choose from Mandala, Lippan, Acrylic, Texture, Watercolour, Kalamkari, Gond, Warli, Madhubani, Pichwai, Pattachitra, and Mural art.

It depends on the size. Up to 4 sq. ft.: 2 sessions. 5–15 sq. ft.: 4 sessions. 16+ sq. ft.: 6 sessions. Each session is 90 minutes.

Framing, delivery, and installation are available but charged at actuals — they are not included in the per-sq.-ft. base price.

Yes, art experiences make thoughtful and memorable gifts. Contact us on WhatsApp and we will plan it together.

Sessions can be held at our studio in C.R. Park, South Delhi, or at your home, depending on the artwork and your preference.

Art Experiences in Delhi NCR: Art Jamming, Paint & Sip and Guided Sessions

"Art experience" covers more ground than most people expect — art jamming, paint and sip, a guided workshop, a full class. They're not the same thing, and picking the wrong one is how someone ends up disappointed at an event that was never built for what they actually wanted. This page breaks down the real differences between the art experiences available across Delhi NCR, so you can work out which one fits — a relaxed solo drop-in, a night out with friends, or a proper skill-building session — before you book anything.

What counts as an art experience

An art experience is any hands-on creative session built around enjoyment rather than formal instruction — from unstructured art jamming, where you paint freely with no set lesson, to guided paint-and-sip evenings and structured canvas workshops. What separates an experience from a class is commitment: experiences are one-off and social; classes build skill over repeated sessions.

The confusion is understandable, because a lot of studios use these terms loosely, or interchangeably, to describe whatever they're selling that week. They're not interchangeable. A twenty-minute guided demo before you start painting is a completely different experience from being handed a blank canvas and told to do whatever you like. Neither is better — they suit different moods.

The different experience formats

Here's how the main formats actually differ, so you can match the mood you're after to the right booking.

Art jamming — free-form and unstructured

Art jamming is the loosest format: you get a canvas, materials, and open studio time, with little to no formal instruction. There's no "correct" outcome to aim for — it's closer to a creative hangout than a lesson. This suits people who already have some comfort with a brush, or who genuinely just want unstructured time to make something without being told what it should look like.

Guided canvas painting workshops

A workshop sits at the other end — every stage demonstrated, a specific finished piece in mind, and a clear path from blank canvas to something recognisable in one sitting. This is the right fit for beginners or anyone who wants a guaranteed result rather than an open-ended session. Our canvas painting workshop covers this format in full, including what you'll paint and how sessions run.

Paint-and-sip celebrations and parties

Paint and sip borrows the guided-workshop structure but wraps it around a social occasion — drinks, a group, a reason to celebrate. The painting is almost secondary to the gathering itself. If you're marking a birthday, an anniversary, or any celebration with friends, the dedicated art party for adults page covers occasions, group sizes, and how to book this specific format.

Folk-art immersive sessions

A less common but genuinely distinct experience: a single guided session in a traditional Indian folk form — Lippan mirror-work, mandala, Madhubani — chosen for its texture and cultural depth rather than because it's easy to finish quickly. These work well as a one-off cultural experience, distinct from committing to an ongoing class in the same form.

Which format is right for you

A quick comparison, since the right pick depends entirely on what you're actually after:

You want Best format Where to book
Unstructured, no set outcome Art jamming Studio drop-in sessions
A guaranteed finished piece, guided step by step Canvas painting workshop Canvas painting workshop
A celebration with friends, drinks included Paint and sip / art party Art party for adults
Ongoing skill-building over weeks A structured class Art classes for adults
A one-off cultural, folk-art experience Folk-art immersive session Lippan art classes
A team activity for work Corporate art workshop Corporate art workshops

What's included across experiences

Regardless of which format you pick, the essentials are the same:

  • All materials — canvas, paints, brushes, or folk-art supplies depending on the format
  • Aprons and table protection
  • A dedicated space, either at the studio or brought to your venue
  • Setup beforehand and cleanup afterwards
  • Your finished piece to take home

What changes between formats is the level of instruction, not the basic care taken over materials and setup. A jamming session and a guided workshop use the same quality of paint and canvas — the difference is entirely in how much direction you get.

Group sizes, locations and pricing factors

Every format works solo or in a group, though group sizes vary by type — a jamming session suits a smaller, quieter room, while a paint-and-sip party scales comfortably to twenty or more. All formats can run at the studio in C.R. Park, South Delhi, or at a home, café, or venue elsewhere in Delhi NCR.

Pricing across every format depends on similar factors: group size, session length, the materials involved, and whether it's at the studio or an at-venue booking. Guided formats with more instruction generally cost a little more per person than an open jamming session, since they need closer attention from the artist throughout.

How to book

Since each format has its own dedicated booking page with full details, the fastest path is:

  1. Decide on the mood. Unstructured, guided, celebratory, or skill-building — use the comparison above.
  2. Go to the matching page. Each format's dedicated page covers group sizes, pricing, and what you'll make in detail.
  3. Send an enquiry. Preferred date, group size, and location on the enquiry page.
  4. Confirm and show up. Everything's set up and ready when you arrive.

Why book an experience with Rajni Dutta Art

Every format above is delivered from the same studio in C.R. Park, South Delhi, led by folk-art fusion artist Rajni Dutta and a full-time team of practising commission artists working under her direct mentorship. That matters more than it might seem — a jamming session or paint-and-sip party run by people who also handle serious commission work tends to feel noticeably more considered than one run purely as a side activity by an events company.

For a sense of the credibility behind it: the studio has been covered by Hindustan Times, Business Standard, ThePrint, and ANI, and has delivered creative sessions for organisations including Airbnb, Qualcomm, upGrad, and Shoppers Stop. You can read more about Rajni and the studio if you'd like the fuller background before booking.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between art jamming and a painting workshop?

Art jamming is unstructured — a canvas, materials, and open time with little formal instruction. A workshop guides you step by step toward a specific finished piece. Jamming suits people who want creative freedom; workshops suit anyone who wants a guaranteed result.

Is paint and sip the same as an art experience?

Paint and sip is one type of art experience — a guided painting session built around a social occasion, usually with drinks and a group. It's more structured than jamming and more celebration-focused than a standard workshop.

Which format should I choose if I've never painted before?

A guided canvas painting workshop or a paint-and-sip session, since both walk you through every step. Art jamming works better once you're comfortable enough to enjoy unstructured time without needing direction.

Can I book any of these for a group?

Yes, across every format. Group sizes vary by type — jamming suits smaller, quieter groups, while paint-and-sip parties and workshops scale comfortably to larger groups with enough notice.

Where are these experiences held?

At the studio in C.R. Park, South Delhi, or brought to a home, café, or venue anywhere across Delhi NCR, depending on the format and group size.
